How To Protect your Blowout at the Gym

Love the feeling of a great workout but don’t want to sacrifice your blowout? Thankfully, you don’t have to.

For a functional and fashionable gym look, put your hair in a topknot. Do this by flipping your head over and dividing hair evenly into two sections. Twisting the sections around each other, create a bun on top on your head. Use bobby pins to hold it in place. The end product should be a loose, voluminous style. This allows for the sweat to evaporate, instead of getting trapped in your hair. For added protection, use a sweat absorbent headband. Sweat adds moisture to hair-which shortens the amount of time your new look can last. The headband creates a barrier between your forehead and back of the neck (the areas that usually sweat the most).

After your run or spin class, head into the locker room for the final maintenance steps. Clip hair into a loose bun and wear a shower cap (preferably lined with terrycloth or cotton) to protect your tresses against moisture. Once you’re finished, take off the cap in a different room, as the humidity in the air can cause frizz. Flip your head over and blow dry your scalp using cool air (the hot setting will actually make your scalp sweat more). Add more Oribe dry shampoo as needed.
